Serving as State Senator for District 9 is my distinct honor. Since 2018, I have worked in the Nevada Legislature to deliver results for Nevada workers, families, and businesses. I believe public service is about listening, solving problems, and standing up for the people I represent. Serving as Chief Majority Whip has allowed me to build strong bipartisan relationships and earn my reputation as an effective policymaker.
I started my legal career as Deputy District Attorney for Clark County, where I handled more than 1,000 felony cases including organized retail theft rings. Today, as Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, I use that experience every day to help keep our neighborhoods and businesses safe. I am running for re-election because I believe there is still work to be done to improve public safety and economic vitality in Nevada.
Retailers are important members of our communities, providing essential products and services, creating jobs, and driving neighborhood growth. As business owners face mounting challenges, from supply chain strains to organized retail theft, I have been working with RAN and our partners to find common-sense solutions that work for Nevada. In the last session, we passed strong legislation to address smash-and-grab crimes. Working alongside law enforcement, I ensured prosecutors have the right tools to take on these cases and keep stores safe for staff and customers.
On the Senate Commerce and Labor Committee I have consistently advocated for pro-business policies that reduce red tape and promote innovation. I am proud of our work creating opportunities for Nevada businesses to succeed.
As we look ahead, my commitment to Nevada’s business community remains clear: open communication, practical policy solutions, and common-sense leadership. I look forward to continuing my partnership with the Retail Association of Nevada to ensure our commercial corridors remain safe, our workforce thrives, and our state continues to be an extraordinary place to build and grow a business.
