According to the Retail Association of Nevada (RAN), back-to-school shoppers are expected to spend over $369 million on new clothes, backpacks and school supplies to gear up for the new academic year. With the school year starting last month in most Nevada schools, back-to-school shopping is second only to holiday shopping as the biggest retail event of the year. Nationally, the average house is expected to spend $942 with electronics generally the biggest spending category.
